ALISM, is an association of Legal Information Systems professionals in the DC Metro Area, and is invaluable as a resource for IS professionals. ALISM provides an environment in which to share your experiences with other members of the legal IS community and learn about new technology trends. Your association with ALISM allows you to learn what other firms are doing, how other departments are run and introduces you to your colleagues in the profession. We currently recruit and accept members from the legal community, including corporate and government legal offices. You will find IT Directors, Network Administrators, Word Processing Managers, Training Specialists, Help-Desk Coordinators and System Analysts among our members today. Through the broad experience base of it’s membership, ALISM will expose you to a wider range of learning opportunities that you are likely to encounter in your individual technical or managerial position. ALISM exists to facilitate the exchange of information regarding the technical and management problems peculiar to the legal automation environment, and to improve the standards and qualifications of information systems managers and their staffs.

We typically meet the third Wednesday of each month over lunch. The meeting serves as both a networking opportunity and an education forum.  Topics vary from month to month and focus on current IT challenges facing the IS professionals in the legal arena.
